He removes the transmission from the truck... disassembles the transmission and replaces the input/output shaft. Not much too it?

actually matt no, its when the tires break loose with big power that the shafts DONT break.
2 of my freinds broke there output shafts with in 3-4 weeks of putting dual fulers on ( like Mike said 750 + ) . but My freind Matt Moon has been on stock shafts for 3 years of pulling and drag racing , It must be some are weaker than others . Next time my trans comes out it will be getting shafts .
NADP uses suncoast shafts or at least that is what they told me when I had them do my tranny:cussing:
When it comes to the trans i let Mike worry about what i need

And its just one less worry about. So much new shit all time,I cant keep up.
I have heard the same, but I have also heard inputs cause more carnage when they go. Upgrade the output and make the input the weak link could be counterproductive and more expensive in the end.
Mike or others, what are your thoughts?
Shafts breaking in an Allison will not cause damage like a Dodge. There will be no damage in an Alli ( either shaft broken ). With a Dodge; broken front shaft will cause 3K damage including your converter.
