yes actually alot. Aswell as the 3/8 L bracket on the hitch. I'll be able to get it braced up. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else.
You need to brace the hitch to the vertical part of the frame where all the strength is. It's just surface rust to the above comment.
Same thing happened to mine. I was surprised when I unbolted the hitch, the frame wasn't bent near as bad as it looked. I straightened everything up and welded in a couple gussets for the frame and it hasn't happened again after 2 seasons. I agree with Dave, a much stronger hitch would fit inside the frame and bolt thorough the vertical part. I keep saying I'm gonna build one like this. Just haven't gotten around to doing it.

and my gosh, I've watched the videos of your pulls on BOB's site and wow son! How short are your traction bars? You are bound to be about to permanently bend your frame near the cab! Has your cab and bed contacted at the bottom? It must get mighty close if it hasn't!! 
No contact, rebounds fine. I'm actually running long dhd bars I bought that come off a crew cab. Had to shorten them about 12 inchs. I twisted the pumpkin on the tubes down in Lebanon. It's getting fixed up now, no more half ass work on it.

I can remember back in the 90s when I followed the stock II (no idea what they're called now but 6500# no visible front hanging weight, 1ton driveline) gassers & they'd setup their suspension to bow like that. My fav was an ol boy outta IN I think. Business was septic system installers I think & called Runic. Beautiful black square body GM that bowed up just like Ben's. Dang I get a chub just thinking about it. LOL
James has a different hitch for a puller, I had one. It requires complete removal of the spare tire crossmember. It set further back in the frame, it will stop this.
Mine did the same. Had to removed it had made some gussets to the hitch itself along with the back half of the frame. When it happened, I was running a 1" travel class and the d ring was above the receiver tube so I don't think that helped either.
Bolting the receiver in to the vertical portion of the frame is by far the strongest way to mount to the frame. The problem with this on a short bed is that the complete rear cross member needs to be removed and a couple of the rivets for the spring hanger need to be taken out to make it fit. As on now only one person has been willing to do this with the trucks, all of the other ones have chosen to mount it to the bottom of the frame.
I do appreciate any feedback even if something is damaged. I will be working on making up some additional braces that will ship with these from now on. If anyone needs the braces for a receiver they currently have please let me know and I will get a set shipped out for you.

You are the only one Rich. It's a pain to do I can guarantee that. If you had a long box it just bolts right in place, those are easy.
