Alright, i have ran twins (366/480) on my truck in the past, which i enjoyed. i now have a 472 but I want more, as many of us on this site do.

which would be a better route to take? :Charger::Charger::Charger: or :Charger::Charger:

I'm sure it will run me about the same to add either a GT55/S510 or two turbos that flow the same or maybe more.

I use my truck to DD and I dont have a HP goal, just want a 10 sec pass to get on that top 50 list :roflmao:

Would triplets make my oil run to hot? or any hotter then it would with twins?

any inputs from guys that run large twins or lerger triples or guys that have gone from one to the other.

I think you already know what you want:D I have no seat time in a truck with twins or trips but from what I'm hearing with the trips you can get more air and faster spooling. If I was building a street truck and wanted it to click off tens, pull trailers and haul groceries, I'd look into triples.

You would be very pleased with triples. I have not ran twins before but I am impressed with the triples. My truck is built around the same purposes as you are talking about. It spools very very well. The truck has much more torque than with a single of similar size to what you are talking about.

Your oil temps will be a concern with big twins, or even worse with triples. Run an oil cooler and a gauge. If you don't tow probably not a concern, but if you do, be sure to monitor it.

I know it isn't as big as what you're planning, but I was very impressed with how quick my truck spooled with the S366/GT4718 setup. Hopefully in a few short months, I can let you know how well an S475/S510 setup spools.

I wish I would have just kept my 366/480 josh. But I'm not going to sell my 472 just to buy two turbos to replace it. and I know with some spray I could have been in the 10's.

pfff... my 94mm precision will outflow that huge turbo anyday of the week. not worth the hype imo

I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying this, but I think triples are over hyped. I've yet to see them do anything earth shattering. I do believe they have their place, such as an application where you can't get a single turbo big enough to flow enough as a primary in a compound turbo setup to produce the power you want, but all these street trucks that have them, I think would work just as well with a good set of twins. :2cents:

I do believe they have their place, such as an application where you can't get a single turbo big enough to flow enough as a primary in a compound turbo setup to produce the power you want, but all these street trucks that have them, I think would work just as well with a good set of twins. :2cents:

My second set of twins was a 366/480 on a completely built engine. It was a good setup, responsive and drove really well. I went to triples using that same 366 with two medium sized atmospheres, which together flow a lot more air than the 480 yet spool quicker. The engine is more responsive and makes quite a bit more power.

I didn't get triples because of how they look. What sold me .....I drove Trent's stock engined LB7 crewcab longbed with that first set of triples. Stock LB7 turbo with two small atmospheres and EFI, that's it. Those two small ones flowed more than a 480 and spooled way faster. No comparison. The thing was unbelievable....instant power from a stop. Almost no turbo lag and it would jump when you stomped on it. I wouldn't have thought a stock LB7 could be so much fun to drive. I watched it pull 1117ft/lbs tq on the Gillett mustang dyno. With a less than max tune. Triples work.

I have no dog in this fight, but just my .02 cents. Thats the same triple setup I have, and my truck is pretty much exactly like he stated. Haven't put it on a dyno yet though.

Should have rode in my truck! I don't have a lot of time in trucks with big twins, but guys that do are always surpised at how easy it is for me to get on top of the primaries. Maybe I'm just good at getting on top of stuff :coolspot:

I haven't ridden in a twinned truck Josh bit I am impressed with the triples that I have on mine.
