Big tires for the track

Ok after hours on google I still have no clue what I'm gong to get so looking for any info I can get....
Remeber about the only thing I care about is getting a good 60 time at the track-I can deal with wear noise etc. since I'm going to start putting the miles back on my jeep.

In 37s about all I can find that I think will be good:

I like the yokos, but people say the BFGs do ok.

So what do you guys think? I'm getting tires in the next week and while I'm going to get a set of track only small tires I would like to get a set of big tires that I can show up and put the hurt on some unsuspecting imports

I run a set of 37x13.50x17 Pro Comp Xtreme AT's and I love'em! Yeah they're pricey but they wear well, very well and have no road noise while cruising. I've raced with them a few times but my times were off a little compared to racing with a set of 33's

Dude I love my tires! I will never put any other tire on my truck! Toyo a/t's 355-60-20
they ride nice,are extremely quiet and wear great! I was cutting 2.1 at the track but it was mostly due to my front end not being able to handle the hard launches. They are a 37x14x20 tire

Holy hell, big tires are expensive!

I would think whichever one has the softer compound would be better for the track. Not too good for wear, but they should hook alright.

x2 for toyo at's.. alot lighter than an mt, great ride as well.

Ive had falken's as well, 325 65 18 and they were great as well. priced the best..

What are you running for gearing at the track?

for the money and quality in the 37's i would get the Falken A/T's they look like a good tire for traction at the track imo. And the 35's for the money i would go with the Pirelli Scorpion atr's JMO:thumb: Pirellis would probably a softer better track tire

this is about as sticky of a 37 you can get. BFG Krawler Red Label. Its one hell of a sticky tire and about as soft of a compound as you can get without a slick. they are jsut heavy

what do those run for price??

depends. you can not buy them new from any dealer. they are only sold to sponsored teams. you can only get them second hand but ive seen them go new for 350 a tire on up to 500 bucks a tire. used with very little use ive seen them go for as low as 200 a tire.

You should try some 36/15.50 Mickey Thompson at's. Nice fat foot print haha:thumb:

Only think that turns me off on those are the speed rating, only N (86 MPH) since I will be seeing close to 120 (I hope) and running it way low on tire PSI IDK if I want to mess with that

I'm seeing stuff torn up on the Nittos from spinning at the track, I bet I would rip lugs off that tire quick :eek:

But then again after ripping the lugs off I would have a 35 inch slick :rofl:

I'm thinking Falken A/Ts and get a 33X10.5 slick for the track. Kind of wanted something that would be ok for a run or two for a fast no kidding on 37s time. I still have the stock gear-was going to change but I think Ill run a smaller slick for the best time so the gearing might work out for me.

if you ripped lugs off those tires, you would be the first ever to do it. concidering ive seen 400-500hp rock crawlers spin the hell out of them on jagged arse rock and not rip any lugs. these tires get STICKY when hot and dont rip, they just flex.

My nitto terras, haven't rip a lug off but have 1/4-3/8 chunks ripped out of the lugs, most seem to be on the front tires, maybe 3-4 per tire? not that many but I haven’t ran the truck that many times (5-6 hard launches) so I was worried about doing that to a aggressive mud tire. I'll be the first one to say I don't know a lot about tires other than the basics (softer is better for grip but wears quick, you want a lot of contract area, lighter is better etc)
