hope this is the right forum but i wanted to ask what the opinion is on puttin a banks big head gate on a stock lb7 turbo what it will help and will i notice a change in anything

I got one I'm not thrilled with it. my stock one worked just as good. you can put a restrictor in the feed line that gos to the stock actuator and that works good.
It is adjustable. you can increase your psi but you don't want to push your stock turbo over 32psi. any over 32 is just over speeding the turbo and will eventually destroy it. you can mod your stock gate by making the shaft adjustable alot cheaper

ok how can i do that, somebody was going to sell me a banks wastegate for $80 but if i can tweek my turbo a tad bit more then i would rather do that cause i want to get a little better mixture

you got to pull the actuator off (waste gate) and cut about of 3/4" out of the middle of the shaft than tap both ends(one side reverse) and put a coupling nut in the middle with a jam nut and your done.
you should try the ppe boost valve first you might like it.
I used a clevise on one end of the stock actuator, and welded a nut in the middle of the shaft for easy adjustment. The boost valve is fine, but the factory actuator will allow the wastegate to open from exhaust pressure alone at about 27-29 PSIG, so even if you completely disconnect the signal line you will still only see about 27 PSIG.
