best time of year to visit Cali

well Tuesday I leave for Iraq. but when i get back id like to take a trip out west. will most likely drive due to other places id like to see as well. i was just wondering whats the best time of yr to visit. id like to be able to race or see some races if possible.

ive been up to norcal before but not in about 7 yrs. spent a week in Redding so beautiful up there idk maybe i will just see as many states as i can HAHA
