Quick question...where did yall buy your internal trans filters( ppe shallow pan on 08 lmm) and how much did they cost? I am looking for premium quality/filtration. Any suggestions would be helpful.:D

I've always thought the internal filter was just "there" and the main filter was the spin-on. Little red Allison OEM filter is the only one I use.

Why change the pan filter? I've always got my filter from Merchant or DHD since I piggyback it with other stuff I need. They run close to $25 I think. If you pull the stock pan and its clean, just leave the sump filter alone.

If you're dropping the pan change it. If you want to do it just because it isn't worth it.

Usually from Amazon but Allison dealers are cheapest if you want it local.

So what I meant to say is that I am going to be installing my shift kit and new pan and so while I'm there.....xyz...yeah, change the filter too:D

Change the filter. Allison changed the sump filter a few years ago from a nylon mesh to a full paper element. Why? Because it never needs changing according to them? BS
Filters need to be changed otherwise they wouldn't be placed there.
