Just wondering what the benefits of putting an LBZ intake on my LLY would be. Ive been told by a couple people that it was the best route. Im not going for any major power on my truck just looking for a good intake for daily driver

Is it just a simple swap for the two mouth pieces? or is there an adapter. I know just about any intake would be better than the hot air K&N intake that I got with the truck.
were currently putting a lbz mouth piece on my friends lly it takes a bit of creativity but not hard
if you have a lbz mouth piece steve@ssdieseltuning is selling a lbz intake and that would make the whole setup easy
It's not bad, just a right fit. Your gm parts.com has them cheap. No adapter for the mouthpiece. Get rid of the k&n and use your stock box. Do the Kennedy diesel air box mod.
I did a 04 LLY with a LBZ mouthpiece, LBZ airbox, opened the hole in the fender well up to match the airbox opening better as well as made a few holes in the front to let more air into the fender well, blocked the EGR, and reflashed it with a tune for the LBZ airbox(EGR shutoff and an optimized stock tune, NO changes to the pulse width) and he said it ran like a race truck after doing it. The difference was night and he said as he was a hotshot driver so he didn't want to add any power, just make it run correctly. The turbo spool-up difference alone was unreal as the turbo lag was virtually gone. Needless to say the LBZ airbox and mouthpiece is superior to the LLY stuff in every way. The LBZ filter is more money, but it is ALOT larger and doesn't need replaced very often.
Thank you everyone for your input. I have been experiencing really bad turbo lag compared to my last two lly that I have owned. I am collecting parts right now and trying to do a big instal before my EFI tune. I am just trying to go with a good all around truck and I will defiantly add an LBZ mouth piece and intake to my airdog. Thanks again.:thumb:
