Belt Issue

Finally got a good cp3 put on my truck and now I am having a belt issue. My belt is not running on the balancer right. It has about a 1/4 inch that runs on the smooth part of it instead of it staying in the groves. I put a new tensioner on right before the cp3 swap. If I put it on the way it should it jumps towards the front once I start the motor. What causes this?

I know I ran a new Napa tensioner and went thru 3 belts then got a GM one all is well.. mine would rub a couple ribs off then blow apart the only diff in the tensioners that I could see was that the GM the belt set in deeper

I just dont understand cause the tensioner is on the opposite side of the balancer and the ac, power steering pulleys and so forth are between the two.

Ya mine was off on the tensioner.. sorry then got me lol
