looked for flaws/cracks, cleaned , polished, prep for install and fresh bearings. The standard hot rod stuff. Do you have first hand knowledge of an issue or pre-install treatment to avoid an issues later? Please advise.

I asked the machine shop to pull all or as many of the dimensions off of it he could in case i break it, unlikely with what is currently a mid size charger. But still if it breaks, a stocker will not be going back in, so i want the critical stuff now in an effort to save brain damage/time later. I have heard of a few breaking but they had twins and alot more HP than me.

nope, no real knowledge. Just curious what you were doing to the crank.

Since cranks and the such is now being discussed, I'm going to take the opportunity to dig a little deeper but I hate to throw your "build thread" off course so I'll start a new thread....

I know Larry! I need to get the parts from Guy. I have about 300 pictures of this whole deal, but some of them are meaningless. Just dirty parts sittin' on a bench ya know?

When the some more "shiny stuff" arrives in front of my camera I'll post 'em up!:)

New Shiny Stuff!!

Ok, long day... Very rewarding.

Got up at 4:30 drove up to the shop, looked at the different ways to oil the pistons, well wondered if a better way exists. Cleaned some parts worked on the hood bla bla.

Left the shop and rambled/drove another 1.5 hours north to see Guy, what do you know! i walk in and Mike L is there as well.

I picked up some parts, Larry here is the shiny stuff.

Gotta say Guy bent over backwards to meet his delivery date, stayed late Friday, called me at 7:30 pm (Friday) saying come on up. Was puttin' the heads together as we all talked about hot rods and diesel trucks, Guy is fast and efficient.

I have more pict's but they are hi res, like 3-4 meg, to much PINA to zip etc.

One is rod/piston (duh?) the other is my drive pressure guage.

where did you find the DP gauge?

I didn't find it really. In an effort to find all face matching 2 5/8" guages, I got pissed. What do they think everybody has 20-15 eyes, run 30-60 lbs of boost and EGT's under 1600?

Sorry, I am cryin' again...

http://www.speedhut.com/

They can make anything, all the guages i purchased have presets and alrm lights. They can do anything you want, for a price. If you order 4-5 guages they get cheaper and the guages get more custom.

Did you Have the crank and cam keyway'd? Where did you get the S400? Looking for one myself.

Yep, it's Guys cam they come keyed. Yep and HTT. If i had to buy a charger again i would look elsewhere versus the Diesel community. Alot of the chargers have been used on other cars/trucks/boats/racers/over the road truckers etc etc. Look outside diesel to get the best deals, hunt the jap ranks, musclecar sites, used commercial diesel repair sites for wierd stuff etc etc. I saw a 42 go for $900 bucks on a drifter/jap car site awhile back.

Based on my research, if you wanna call it that, it's the biggest charger I was willing to try in a daily driver.

Obviously i didn't "test the water" to much, it may be to big. IIRC your a sled puller yes?:)
