So I got a leak on my beans sump after install, not the oring. It's coming out of the threads where the barbed fitting goes into the sump. I tried permatex #2 gasket maker (petroleum safe) and it didn't fix it completely. Beans said to use red or blue loctite... That's pretty broad of a statement as there are a shit load of loctite types out there and even then I don't know if it would even seal. I was going to try loctite 515 gasket maker but it doesn't say anything about if it's petroleum safe. Any suggestions on what I should use.

:rofl: well you got one either way!

id throw some teflon tape on it. i had a leaky fuel cooler fitting that wouldnt seal up. cleaned all the threads off on teh fitting and cooler, then added that, no more issues.

when you applied the gasket maker, did you make sure the threads were clean/free of diesel on both the fitting and sump? sump isnt cracked around there is it?

Yeah it was clean. Will Teflon be ok against petroleum. My biggest issue is every time this doesn't work I have to drain the whole damn tank. I've drained it twice so far.

I got a home Depot a mile away it wouldn't hurt at this point, last thing I want is to have to drain the tank again. I'll give that a shot and report back
Thanks guys

Everyone I have installed leaks there.. so now I take the fitting out and put good quality teflon tape on every one I install before I install the hose.
