Battery light stayed on

Battery light came on, voltage was droping, so replaced Altenator and put in new batteries (both) in my 2002 GMC 3500 diesel, and battery light is still on!!! Any help.???

Check the small red box to the left of the driver's side battery. Make sure the positive leads haven't melted the plastic box...had same issue

Also check your leads to make sure they're good and all the grounds. The alternator case might not be grounded properly. Try grounding it and see if it goes away
