Anybody been watching. They ran a couple of the GM cars through last night. Pretty interesting.

This prototype Vette with the active suspension was wild. The GM rep said that you could actually lift one tire off the ground and drive it around. It was GM's attempt at developing a suspension based on some ideas being used in Formula One.

This one was built for Dale Earnhardt, he was also involved heavily in the building of this car.

How cool would it be to ride around in this. Only brought $23,000. You could not redo the leather for that.

A very nice, preserved and selectively restored Bentley. In excellent condition with original leather and beautiful refinished wood. It runs well and is absolutely perfect for daily use or cross country touring. It is rare and 1 of less than 800 built in 1958. It has been never modified or altered.

I was going to start a thread about the auction, you beat me to it...haha

I watch it all, from start to finish, even set my dvr to record all of it so I'm sure not to miss any cars.
I thought the "GM heritage collection" cars fetched good money for Tuesday. I personally liked the red '66 Impalla SS 396 4spd. Did anyone catch the LMM that went across the block? It was not my taste but cool to see a Dmax at Barrett-Jackson. I also thought the money was not there on alot of other muscle cars, maybe a sign of the times.

I can't wait until Friday and Saturday night, I want to see the Yenko cars. Friday night every year I watch it with my grandfather and he'll tell me all about the cars from back in the day.

No it was one of the 4 Callaway corvettes that all sold to the same guy. It was a 1989 C4. Dubed the "Sledghammer". It was a twin turbo SBC rated at 898HP but it had been detuned from about 1200hp to make it more "driveable". 0-60 in 3.5 seconds top speed was 254.76mph. I had a poster on my wall back in 89'of this car and I still have one today hanging in my gun room. 4 square holes had to be put in the front bumber because the car kept trying to take off like an air plane when they were testing it. It sold for I believe $1,500,000. Too bad.

I've seen 2 of the 4 in person. The green one and the yellow one.

Rick Hendrick bought my dream car last night. The '71 Buick GS Stage 1 4spd Convertible. I really would have wanted a '70 though anyhow.

I had an opportunity to by one of those a few years back, '70 GS Stage II 4spd Hardtop with dealer installed GSX spoiler. It was in a barn since the early 80's, and needed minor work but was very solid. I was ready to do the transaction and the seller backed out  He said the car wasn't eating anything sitting there, as far as I know he still has it.
