Has anybody used this? And did it really improve mid range for pulling for turbo drop like its design?
I bought the BD version (exactly the same). I noticed that it builds boost quicker and more of it. Like these guys said, it works even better with a tune and I only have a Hypertech tuner. If you really want to save money just pinch off the waste gate tube! :thumb:
:rofl:i know a dumb a** that did that,he was buying a turbo a few thousand miles latter. But dam was it fast for a few thousand miles :roflmao:Uh, no. I hope you were kidding.*\7**
If you want to do something on the cheap, use a PPE boost valve. That is what I currently run.
If you need adjustability, use a Kennedy Diesel valve or something like that.
You ran both i wouldnt think that would work to well and as the wastgate wouldnt get an accurate reading on boost because of the boost valveI ran 36-37 psi outta mine but it didn't gain any power after 32-34 Psi anyways I had the banks big head and ppe boost valve
Your right Tom. The stocker bleeds off some boost cause it partially opens. When I had the banks it held all the way up. Only time it would open would be if I was pulling my trailer hard in the sand and chop the throttle. My stocker was kinda week Iguess. I am pretty sure it never saw 30psi
Uh, no. I hope you were kidding.
Just have a question on setting this thing up. I ran 34psi thru a regulator and a gauge to the wastegate, and adjusted the wastegate rod so it slid into the "closed" turbo gate hole without binding.
When I let the air pressure off the wastegate, the rod sucked back about 1/2", tightening the turbo gate up. Is that how its all supposed to work?
Just have to load the race tune and go make some back-road runs and see where its at.
Should I expect to see ~33-34 lbs boost since thats where I set it or do these things need real world adjustment after initial setup?
Thanks for any info.
Oh, and truck is finally ready to go to the track now. Ive got .15 to catch.
