LBZ: Banks and EFI Live??

Hey i got a buddy with an 07 Classic, and he has the banks 6 gun package with the IQ. I was wondering if you can turn off the egr with his setup?? I was also wondering if you can add EFI live on top of it?? I know EFI Live is better, (thats what i have!!) but to use it to put a base tune of something small, and then shut off the egr, then use the Banks to get a bit more power out of it. He wants to beable to turn it up and down. Its not my idea, i told him to just get EFI Live, but it's his truck. LOL

Tell him to get a DSP5 Switch and go with EFI and use the Banks for gauges.

The dsp5 is NOT working right with Banks 6gun on my truck


Yes you can load a tune with efi that will turn off egr and run the 6gun from there

But the dsp5 doesn't want to work right. Don't know why. I have a thread in here somewhere.

Maybe the IQ is different idk

thats what i told him to do. Just get EFI Live and then use the banks for the gauges.

another uestion though?? Will the truck have any problems at all if we remoe the egr?? Will the banks shut it down or derate the truck? I know a check engine light will come on. My main concern is the Banks stuff causing problems.

I'd have to look at my efi tune. You can't turn it all off or set to 0 with efi because the banks sees the 0 and throws an egr low flow code

I think I might have just turned off the CEL with efi and the banks is fine with that

i did an egr delete on mine, but i have efi live. I apparently have mine turned off, so just two weeks ago i completely removed mine. It's alittle louder , but that dont bother me. Looks nice and clean.:thumb: But i definatly want to see what happens to my buddies truck if we remove it.

I have an 05 duramax lbz w/6 speed alli. I am using the banks six gun 6 position switch to control the dsp5. I have egr deleted with no problems, using turbo for brake.I have position 1 with no hiss tune, position 2 with smoke tune. For the power and gauges i use banks 6 gun with pda. i have no problems at all. I am still figuring out how to add power safely with efi that is why i am using banks.

I did a complete swap that is why i have lbz and 6 speed on the 05 :thumb:

nice, cause my buddy just bought all the banks stuff. Then i went and got my truck tuned with efi live and he was all upset about how much more power i had then him. This is why i was curious. Thanks for the info.
