Well for 4 years now I have always heard a TIS TIS coming from gauge cluster on the driver side. I have also always had a B0229 code, i never attributed the code to the noise until a few days ago. Is there a fix for the B0229 without using a Tech2?

Only way i know is to use a tech2...Not worth fixing unless you dont plan on flashing your truck again

perhaps someone else knows something?

I would also like an anwser too. I get that code along with 401 and 0101 every day and usually limp the truck with in 10 minutes of running the truck after a cold start

I used to get these as well all the time and then they went away. Not sure what happened but the cold weather is back so we will see if it comes back as well.

FWIW, the P0401 & P0101 are egr related (0401 is insufficent EGR flow and 101 is MAF performance; enerally a 401 will trip a 101), and are totally unrelated to a B0299, which is Recirculate Position Feedback Circuit Range/Performance.

Paint, does your recirculate work? If you press recirculate and it just flashes, then you probably need an update. There's one that improves the operation of the airflow doors. IIRC, I used to get that code until I updated the HVAC module.

How do I update the HVAC module? the TechII has lots of options LOL

You need SPS to do it. You'd select the module and request SPS info. then go to the SPS PC and continue the process.

Go into diagnostics, build your truck, go to body, select your radio and HVAC type, select "Heating and air Conditioning", "Special Functions" and /"request HVAC Info for SPS". After it goes through its motions gathering info, it should bring up a screen showing your VIN and three 8 digit numbers; post up what those three numbers are.

Thanks, I was already aware of that though... Maybe the B0299 is not what I have, maybe mine's P0299 notsure. It's the Under Boost Code that I have?
