Question: Autolights/Dimmer Wire 2005 lly.Nylon Boost line

I have not found a post for this, if I happened to miss it and repeating the same question, I appologize. 2005 lly install on gauges, Im trying to locate a wire i can tag off of that will operate the gauges when the dast lights auto turn on and have the ability to use the dimmer to control brightness. Found power for the on/off off the autolight, and found dimmer control but not all in one wire. From what I know the truck works off a negative bus system. Anyone able to locate a wire that turns on gauges when dash lights come on, and dim?
2nd is that crappy nylon boost tube if there are some minor pinches in the line, not fully pinched, think that will make a slight difference. The feral fitting when tighten inthe gauge caused the line to move, slightly pinching the tube. Any Ideals?

I wired mine so that the lights came on with my ignition. Use a meter to find power on a fuse with the key turned on. Then you can get a fuse with wire connection made into it or solder it yourself.

I believe the dimmer was a brown wire (possibly with white stripe?) coming off the headlight switch.
