Read this letter. Note the GM President calls the guy who wrote the letter and employee. That is a typical response from a politician. They never directly address your letter. Some canned response from a clerk.

Pretty crappy thing to do, but in all fairness to the GM brass, they've got a lot more to do right now than to personally answer letters and e-mails.

In this case no response would be better than a form letter.
