It's not as bad as you might think lol
I have 50% on both my trucks and all it really does at night is cut down glare. The side tint really has an effect on how dark the windshield looks though.
This was a bit cloudy on that day.
My other truck which definitely is darker. I don't know why but it is. The interior is black so that probably is a big part of it. Also that's the only picture I can find on my work laptop.

I got taken out of my truck and illegally detained and booked for tint on a windshield I wanted professionally removed. The magistrate could not come up with a statute under which this was legal. I was not a dick to the cop either just matter of fact. I have massive respect for law enforcement, my immediate family is involved in it.
But what was the officers excuse? Around here they've always just made you remove the tint and have to show up to the station so they could inspect it.

We can get tint tickets around here too but it is TX and it’s hot as balls. My running theory is that if you just drive like an old man (how I drive) you’ll have no issues lol
Right. I've had 20% for years, no issues. Just make sure to roll the windows down if you get pulled over lol. Had 5% on my little s10 in school, never had local cops give me any attitude about it
Unchecked Dirty cops do more harm and they run off the good cops and add fuel to the ACAB group.
Going purely off what you said, that cop shouldn't have a badge period. And the one that approved him should at minimum be reprimanded for allowing such a poorly trained cop to be on the street.
I've had 50% on my windshield it's not bad, but it can get you pulled over in TX. I just do 70% now as it's almost impossible to tell it's there. It still keeps my truck 10* cooler then no tint.
Man there's a lot of yellow corn here in Ohio, this heat doesn't back off harvest is going to get here really fast.. usually don't see these colors till after first frost or mid late September.
