Anyone have any experience with a Yamaha RX-1 sleds. I'm looking at buying a sled to replace the 86 yamaha SRV. The shop here in town has a 2003 rx1 with 1800 miles for $3200. I've know the guy at the shop for a while he says they are a good sled and that would be a good way to enter the sport He offered to load that sled up and head to the mountains with him to ride it. What do you guys think is this a good deal/good sled?

The first 03 RX-1ton I saw had a shattered front clip from hitting moguls too hard. The next one I saw had a turbo on it and was good for over reliable 200HP. Try before you buy is a great offer.

X10 VERY HEAVY, but they love boost, I have read some are making 300+Hp.
The ones I have been around have been very reliable. Go for a ride and see what you think.

if you're going with a yami, go with a nytro. can't really beat the handling and power of a nytro. i have a 03 F7 snopro patriot ed. that is only faster by fractions with a full exhaust on it and clutch kit on it.

Thanks guys I would like to get something like a nytro but this is more in my price range (broke college kid). Anyone wanna buy a 50th anniversary R1 so i can?
I found a pretty good write up on totallyamaha.com about lightening them up some and some basic mods. I think I'll probably go ride it Sunday and decide :D
