DURAMAXDIESELS.COM MEET!!!
NO AGENDA, NO RIVALRY, JUST A MEETING OF FRIENDS

My fellow members, may I propose a meet for the website members?

The Situation:
Some buddies and I are going down to SoCal (Disneyland specifically) during March and I figured since a lot of members live in that area, why not have a meet? This originally started as a 2 person get together but then ideas flowed in and it grew.

Dan from PPE has been kind enough to help with this so far and this is what we have...

The Place: Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, CA.
Since my buddies and I are staying at the Grand Californian hotel, what better place to have this event! We are looking at the Wisteria Room in the hotel and should this event take place, we will secure it.

The People:
Anyone who is a member here. Pat and Kat obviously, any and all of the, admins, mods, vendors, and of course members are all welcome! The Wisteria Room can hold a total of 60 people according to the Grand Californian catering people. If we can get that many, great! And if we get more, then we can move to a bigger room. If we can't scrape that many, we can be moved to one of the restaurants in the hotel or even the rest of the resort.

The Date:
Saturday Evening March 19th or Sunday Eveing March 20th 2011. I will break down these dates later in the thread and I'll put a poll to vote on dates.

The Price:
This is where it gets interesting. NOTE: All of this, it true as far as I understand it to be and could change.
Saturday nights are their busiest time so naturally they will charge more. To secure the room Sunday through Friday, it will cost a minimum of $2500 worth of food (excluding parking, taxes, and service fees). Saturdays require a $4000 food minimum. Now before anyone freaks out, stay with me guys. If we get 60 people, the $4000 will come out to roughly $67 a person and the $2500 will work out to roughly $42 per person again, before taxes, parking, and service fees.

Now, I will be happy to pay more than my share since I will be hosting the event. I DO NOT wish to make a profit out of this. I just want to cover what I put into it. I think any net profits that come up should be donated to the site as a thank you to Pat and Kat for letting us be us on here and providing a refuge from a certain...place :D.

It's close to 1am here and I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff out and I'll add more later but this is it boys and girls! This is what we have so far and let's hope it takes off. Feel free to comment, add an idea, criticize a part or all of this, we really want a lot of people to show up and have a great time with no agenda, and no rivalry.

Well I'd be in but I will be shreddin' the pow on my sled that weekend in Revelstoke and Sicamous. I know the past couple gtg's at Pat and Kat's have been spectacular! I don't suspect this one will be anything less.

As long as kids being there isn't a problem we would be in:thumb: I don't have the time for Allison softball game yet though for Saturday.

Great! Are you saying you don't have time Saturday or it would be better on Saturday??

I'm up for either, but I think for the majority of the people that would be interested in a get together of this nature even the $42 a plate is fairly stiff. Just my .02! I would like Sat better if I had to pick one!
Thanks for going thru all this trouble, even if its 10 or 15 for dinner it will be good :thumb:
