ATS co-Pilot raises line pressure??!

It raises pressure from 86 up to 230psi even in 5th and 6th??

I don't claim to be an Allison expert by any means but I was under the impression this was more of a mechanical issue/fix.

How does the Co-Pilot accomplish this?? I realize that there is a lot more wrong with the stock trans than just line pressure, but I guess I didn't realize this device would raise pressure that much?? or does it?

Someone fill me in on what the co-pilot really does and how well it works, thanks!

There are mechanical parts added to the valve body. The co-pilot simply adjusts the solenoid block placed on the reverse tube to manipulate the trim valves. This is where your tranny will gain most of the line pressure. So it is not just a plug in and go, there are valve body modifications made. But considering the benefits, they are relatively simple to do.

I still have mine to send back to get repaired with moving to kansas and dealing with my shoulder I have not had time to ship it back to them. From the day I got it had 2 of the led's lites out.And it really never locked right to me. Mines in a bag on the shelf.

It doesn't interfere with any custom TCM tuning I have done as far as shift points, tc lockup etc. does it? I have both normal and tow/haul mode modified and don't want those to change....

No, the only thing that will change is when in race mode, it will lock the converter right out of second gear

Also you do not need to do the internal mods to the valve body to gain lookup in 2nd gear

Only at full throttle, kinda obivious but maybe some people might not know that so just thought I would make that clear.

x2 thats the way I have mine hooked up

Only issue I have heard was on big HP trucks where some weird TCM table is overriding the tables we have access too and preventing lockup until higher speeds due to tc slip. Maybe there are other reasons?

Ok... well the whole reason I want one of these is for the raised line pressure.... truck is holding my tune (for now!) but I figure a little extra line pressure might help it survive that much longer.... plus I like gadgets

When he computer sees a certain amount TC slip it unlocks the converter and wont relock it till slip falls below a certaim amount. these controllers keep it locked.
Mines unlocked on downshifts before and but when the co pilot is working like its supposed to it doesnt unlock (from what I can feel atleast)

I'm probably lucky to be making 400whp up at nearly 7000ft altitude... do you guys think with the added line pressure my trans might be able to hold that power in 5th... (set up high rev tune to stay in 4th, so I've never run 5th or 6th hard) Kinda hard to answer, but just wondering how much good this thing really does??

Do not think the Co-Pilot will be something that keeps your transmission from liming because it won't... FYI

Build the trans already...there's no cheap/quick fix

Definitely don't have 3k+ laying around at the moment.. or it would be done already

Just looking for ways to extend its life until I do have the cash... (high rev 4th gear tune, trans go jr etc.) .... I saw a used co-pilot go for $600 so I was just doing my homework to see what it could give me.
