Would like to see how it stacks up for the King of the hill and super ike with 35k lbs tow rating.

I've been reading up on them. I like the new design and the interior is nice. I really like the option of the air ride rear suspension. Kinda shocked they're going through the troubles to offer 2 completely different engine packages.

I wouldn't mind buying a new truck but just having a hard time justifying the price tag that is coming with all these fancy new trucks.

I'm not much of a dodge guy, but that power wagon looks pretty good. be interesting to see how much power they make and how much the trans will hold once people start tuning them

The interiors do look nice. I wonder how accurate the torque rating is. I know in the past they have been guilty of derating the torque and making true peak torque under limited circumstances.

Cummins has been testing the 6.7 with a cp4 since 2011, apparently they didn't see enough bad data to shy away.

negative. they have no where near that time committed to it. thats direct info from "ram". 1 year testing on it.

dont get your hopes up on the trans, boys. alot will be like Josh is pointing out.

35K tow rating falls into the tractor trailer category. You have to be a fool to try and tow that kind of load. How do you stop it? Good luck on the trans.

Well being as they had the cp4 bolted to a 6.7 back in 2011 I'm going to disagree with you. They weren't on the Chrysler platforms yet, but Cummins still had the cp4 in testing

I think the 3500 will stay with the Aisen and the 2500 will get the new 8 speed ZF.
The 1K tq isn't going to scare GM or Ford.

Was thinking the same thing when they went up to 30k. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can hook up that much weight and think they can cruise down the road without the skills needed to safely handle it sounds like a disaster to me

I guess the pros, and kind of the rout GM took, is when you are only hooked up to 15 or 20k it should handle better. But doesn't stop the dimwits from hooking up a car trailer and loading it with vehicles or an overloaded 5th wheel camper and think nothing bad will happen "because it rated to 35k lbs"

That is true and it is not like an air brake system that my large truck has that defaults to the on pos on failure ! I was towing my Bobcat Exc the other day with my D max and the ground on the trailer brakes broke , I was very happy I did not need to stop fast !

At least in my state anything over 26K gross you have to have CDL. I know this doesn't stop some idiot from doing it but don't get caught or the fine will be more than the truck payment. Heaven forbid they get in a wreck which regular insurance won't cover them over 26K.


At least with a CDL they have to have taken more tests than a regular license. But they will give a regular license to any Tom, Dick, or Jane.

In California, if it is for personal use or recreational. In other words not making money, then more than 26k lbs doesn't require a CDL.

I like it that way for me because it is quite easy to exceed that. 9k lb truck, 7500 lb gooseneck trailer leaves you with only 9500 lbs load limit. I know if I am loaded heavy I am going to take it extra carefully, leave lots of room and drive much slower. But on the other hand there are way to many people around here that don't know how to drive a car let alone a loaded truck/trailer
