Just wondering if anyone here works in a boneyard (or has a friend who does) in a non-winter salt area?

Ive got a 2003 Grand Prix that needs a new fuel filter bracket, which is no longer available from GM, and Dorman doesnt make an aftermarket one.
The one on the car is so rusted out it doesnt hold the filter any more.

I believe they are the same as Monte Carlo's and Buick Regals of the same vintage.

Please let me know. Thank you.

I know you want stock.... but if it's a round inline filter, why not just tek screw a hose clamp to a 15 year old car? Just a thought...

Yeah, I reviewed oemcats when I was searching the part number. I found in the past that site isnt reliable. Its very odd that a part like this isnt made anymore, by anybody.

You might be onto something with the worm clamp. It might sandwich the remainder of the oem bracket and compress it to hold the filter. Thanks.

It is odd that it's not made and and just disappeared. I believe some of the trailblazers used that mount also.

When all else fails you could always revert back to some good old hanger strap or coat hanger...lol

Yep....simple fix with a hose clamp. While I HATE rigging things, it'll have to do. Thanks.

I was working on my Mom's van, as we're getting it ready to sell for her estate. Due to the outside rearview mirror housing being broken, I was removing the door panel.
Found that some hack in the past broke the door handle bezel, and instead of replacing it, they GLUED the damn old one back in. It was also missing 3 christmas tree retainers, too. Grrr.....

I got a large pick and pull not far from me that I've been meaning to stop by so I can stock up on fuses and bulbs.

Looks like thay have 8 or more Grand Prixs in there lot of that generation. May swing by Wednesday or Thursday. I could take a look for you and grab one. Being in California there is a really good chance that they are rust free

Is this the part? #2

That doesnt quite look like it, but it works like that. Just a single 13mm bolt under the drivers side rear door.

One or two of these the right size and a self tapping screw or bolt will work just fine also.

Yep, walking around the whole yard I only saw a little bit of rust. Mostly on the pre 90s trucks. Everything unibody was an excellent shape. Because of all the rain everything was full of water. You could pick up a headlight and turn it over and a cup or two of water would drain out. The trunks had 5 or 6 inches of water in them. Everything was sitting in water yet almost no rust. I guess that is the only real plus side to living in California
