Anyone ever machined and fabricated there own intake?

Anyone on here ever fabricated there own intake? I'd like to do a 5" steel or aluminum intake going to a 4094. Our welding/machine shop at work has the ability to build whatever u want so was thinking about having an intake made up for the new turbo. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this and how it turned out. Thanks

I built my own. (I've built a lot more since then). If you've got the equipment it shouldn't be too big of a challenge.

Would a 5" b ok or would it cause problems. Say with the maf sensor?
