Recently bought the 08 lmm & this hose was hanging off the side of the trans, it comes from the 4wd transfer case---any idea what it is for & where it goes?

& I found this weird lil socket shaped object laying on the crossmember under the oil pan---what is it?

TIA!

Hose is a factory vent hose that should probably be secured up higher and came loose. I have no idea what the other thing is.

Looks to me to be a breather tube. Its supposed to be snapped in the trans tunnel above the trans if I remember correctly. Also I have no clue what the socket looking device is.

Correct about the vent. I just found out there should be a bracket that holds that hose on the very top of the bellhousing. On the stud at the bellhousing to rear motor adapter. Mine has been just hanging loose like yours for along time too

Well i believe that hose with the check valve is most likly for the transfercase vent line and shouldnt be laying like that could be the vent line for the front diff also but that 1 should be clipped to the drivers side plastic innef fender the t case vent sould be on a steel holder and bolted to the top trans bolt which has a stud coming out of it for the steel clip to go on it with a nut.No idea what that other part is

The other thing is the piece that goes inside the starter solenoid that pulls the lever to engage the starter gear into the flywheel.

is that something that would just "fall out" ? the starter has been replaced...

Not unless the solenoid was removed from the starter. The starter won't work without it.

x2. Someone pulled the solenoid off the started and then dropped that plunger into the crossmember trying to re-install it.
