I'm gonna park mine just can't see driving it to work 5 miles when it's 20-30 or 40 below.
If you do park it what do you do? Drive it in the shed & walk away?

Mines going away in the next few weeks as winter is setting in. I pretty much just walk away with my head held low when I park it:mad: Seriously though, I fill my tank of fuel so no moisture can get in, and remove the battery and keep it on a tender. About once a month Ill start it up and let it run for 20+- minutes and thats about it. Its sat outside a few winters under an out door (expensive) truck cover but that got old taking the cover off ever few weeks to quick detail it, so Its gotten a garage the past few years. Its served me well for years. Of course the obvious, I clean it within an inch of its life but thats a given :roflmao: Hope this helps

I store mine for winter.. Just like Duramax Hd said, It's depressing, but worth it.

I just start it once or twice every two weeks and let it idle. If the roads are dry I will run it down the road and park it again.

No way I can park mine. Regardless of the weather. I go through withdrawals haha.

Plus the Deville doesn't do so well in two feet of snow haha.

WOW I thought I was the only one or one of only a few! But ya I park mine winter and rain to tell you the truth! I charge my batteries about once a month IF I don't drive it. Occasionally I have to move it around inside here at my shop which is a pain but it's worth it IMO.

Also I will take it out in the winter if the roads are dry to stretch it's legs and get the juices flowing around but last winter with all the snow we had I don't believe I drove it at all as the roads were always wet.

Winter and the salt calcium chloride is horrible that they use. If you have any rust spots frame or body on a vehicle that you do drive it just accelerates the damage 10 fold! Nasty nasty stuff! There are so many complaints of the damage this stuff is doing to trucks and vehicles that have to drive daily. Something to do with the brakes? I don't really recall

The brake & fuel lines rot out, glow plugs & many other things seize up. last year when Dipper was doing the trans, took 2 of them with big prybars to seperate the trans from the engine he kept saying I hate working on Northeast trucks.

My 05 is usually parked for the winter fixing all the crap I broke through out the year:rolleyes: Last year it spent most of the winter in the garage with no engine. Now this year it is going in the shop here in the next couple weeks and the motor is coming back out for the 4th time:(

Yup your right I recall now that you posted it. I believe brake lines were the biggest concern. I posted awhile back about a friend and his Dodge that he has had to replace the same brake line twice in the last 3 years. This time he went with a stainless copper (I think copper) alloy line.

I should really check the lines on my Jeep. Not that I want to re[lace them but for security and impending failure. I do and have tried to rinse /wash my Jeep weekly in the winter. Last year was the first year I did not as it was snowing every other day and a waste of time.

But I did pay for it also. I had to half ass a paint job on it this summer as it looked terrible. Thankfully I did catch it in time before serious rot happened. If I didn't it would be toast!

Ask any state of ct mechanic what kind of damage this shit is doing to the trucks they use to plow. The amount of rot work they do each year is disgusting. Also look into the izuzu recall of their frames. Big to do with the state of ct and izuzu.

White Out goes into the shop barn, it lives there most of the time. It's so dry here I don't worry about moisture in the fuel, but I but some additive in it anyway. Usually take it out a couple times a month if the roads are dry. Always surprises me how heavy it feels on the frontend after driving my 1/2 ton gasser all the time.:woott:

I have a company car.. so if I don't want to drive my truck, I don't. Only thing is my company pile is a real piece... I mean, it's been beat within an inch of it's life, and it looks like it.

My poor ride takes all the weather. No shelter and no time off!

I don't think I could park it, love to drive it too much! I dread the day she goes down for a motor build but it is inevitable...

Im gonna winterize my truck soon, and park it in my garage. I dont want all the salt on the roads ruin my baby. I always wash, polish and wax the truck, raise the tire pressure up to 50psi, fill the tank all the way up and add 1 quart of 2-stroke oil while filling her up. I also grease all the zerk fittings before I park the truck in the garage for winter. While in winter sleep Im always taking the batterys out, and charge them from time to time as needed.

I also use penetration lube under the truck while lifted for greasing before parking extended times it works in on the way home to sleep. It's nice to drive with the front end all lubed on the UCA and LCA areas along with shackle bolts you get the idea it's going to sit a while and that sure makes it nice to drive on a nice day to use it too when the breaks come in weather. Shock mount bolts like that oiling too. 2 stroke in fuel is one that sure keeps it prepped, starts right up. Good topic
