I have a B&W hitch already and would like to use the companion but I think it will be to close to the cab and will hit. I have see a Company by the name of Colibert makes a slider for the b&w. Has any used one of there hitches?

I have done it A Lot.. Two broken windows(my fault).. But whatever.

I have a valley slider that I never slide back. Most of it depends on the trailer and front corner overhang. But if you watch it, you'll be fine.

Ive done it on a couple fifthwheels on shortbeds and have never had a problem. Just keep an eye the corners and be familiar with how tight you can turn and youll be fine. I have a b&w hitch, problem was i didnt want to store the companion so i went with a gooseneck adapter on my fifthwheel. So far no problems..

All shortbed will be close. The room between the center of the axle and the front of the bed is close for any 5th wheel. Goosenecks arent a problem. I had a Pullrite Superglide on my LBZ back int he day and it would automatically slide back and I cut go past a 90* turn and not even get close to the cab window.

I pull a 40 footer with no problems. I haven't hit the cab or used the slider, yet.

Pulling a 40ft Hearland Landmark Key largo. Have a slider hitch and have not needed it. Will be trading it out for the one like you have. Most all newer campers these days come with a extended pinbox and with that it should not hit. Plus our camper has rounded front sides. So I can turn without the slider hitch.

Now if I'm moving our Daughters camper I have to use the Slide each time I turn any at all. But it does not have an extended pin box.

Forgot to add most that need to sliding hitch have the 6ft bed rahter then the 6ft 6" bed our trucks have.

I have a 38 Cedar Creek and I have broke 2 windshields. But you really have to turn it hard to do that. I have the Reece with the slider but I hate to slide it because it is a pain to get unlocked and locked in again. It depends alot on the shape of the front of the trailer.

My vote goes to superglide. I have used Reese b and w and some other brand that I don't remember. The super glide is by far the best one. You can adjust the slack out of it where there is virtually no slack whatsoever. The only down side is that if you want to pull it with a different hitch you will have to remove the plate that attaches to your trailer.

not correct. I have another adapter which attaches to the head that will let anybody tow with your capture plate attached to the pin box.. it has another pin lower then the 5er pin . it came with my hitch when I bought mine used

I pull a 40ft Toyhauler with my 4dr shortbed, and live in a coal-de-sack (<---I'm tired)
Only time I use the slider is when I hook up & that's it

just place the pullrite head in this and anybody can tow your coach, my hitch is about 8 years old , I got it this year for like 500. dollars and it looked brand new, all I had to get was bolts

I pull my old mans 5th wheel with my truck. Its a mid 90's model without the extended pin or rounded corners. I have to use the slider quite a bit or I'd shatter a window pretty easily. But towing with the shortbed is no problem. I have airbags and it tows and rides like a dream. Don't even know its there (almost).
