Dale, that 8V92 is a supercharged/turbocharged 2 stroke engine. The positive displacement charger on that thing really packs a punch with heat. The supercharger is for starting that diesel engine, then becomes a compound setup as boost from the turbocharger increases. We really can't compare the two. That supercharger is way inefficient because of the job it has to do to get the 2 stroke engine started. We really are going to give this setup a round or two to see what can be made of it.

The supercharger on a two-stroke diesel does the same thing a reed cage does on a dirt bike; controls the crankcase air.

These units are all build to order... on the truck.

Turbo's going on this truck are larger then what Nasty Girl had.

Oh, and it now has a new GN hitch and Titan tank for TOWING and less fuel stops while OVER 1000 hp at the flip of a switch.

You are building twins?

Would you like to post prices? Lots of folk here are interested.

Pat, I cant post prices, vendor policy

Damn it! Wrong forum

First, I'm still going to send you the MPI way if your looking for something to buy and bolt on. Hard to beat them.

If your looking for something....more.....I hope to fill that gap. We are building these on a per truck basis right now, have three sets under way. One of each generation, LMM coming soon.

You MUST have a built motor to put these on.

What you cant see in those pics is all the SS flanges, SS up pipes and 2 50mm wastegates. Prices start around 8k and go up from there. Of course, everything is coated and pretty when done.

Not for me Eric, for the readers.

I'm more of the Stupid Pet Tricks school of turbocharging. :D

MPI makes good stuff, but they are hard to impossible to get your hands on.

Texas!!!
How sweet would it be if sombody in California made them! Driving to Idaho sounds rough.
There's always the option to ship them. Nathan actually hates to do installs.

Not if you're patient ;)

Did I hear a ring? I think I did, *ring* *ring* 1000hp at the flip of a switch, I sure like that ring....:cool2:

Doug at PPE told me it's a GT42R on top with a GT55 on bottom? We probably wont hear back any results until they get the motor back from David.

~100lb turbo and a 150lb turbo.... that gap is rather close.......
LB7 ->4204
LLY ->4202
LBZ ->4508
4088->4718 <- currently being built by MIKA
4094 ->5533
4294/02 will light a gt6041

gettng the rigth a/r for the turbine will be little difficult. samller the A/R # the faster/sooner it will light

Malibu, So with my HTT S300 would you think an S480 or a GT4718 on the bottom? How would you figure out which A/R youd need?

4718 would work... or you could do a 4708

i dont know how a s480 maps out. this is all i could fiund

this is the closet thing to spec on a s480

S480 with 1.10 AR Specs:
Turbocharger Name - S480
Compressor Wheel Inducer - 80mm
Turbine Wheel Inducer - 3.28
Turbine wheel exducer - 2.92
Turbine Wheel Trim - 79
Turbine Outlet - Outlet -5 inch V-Band
Turbine - Inlet - T6
Turbine Housing A/R - 1.10
Horsepower Rating - 550-1300

S480 with 1.32 AR Specs
Turbocharger Name - S480
Compressor Wheel Inducer - 80mm
Turbine Wheel Inducer - 3.76
Turbine wheel exducer - 3.46
Turbine Wheel Trim - 84
Turbine Outlet - Outlet -5 inch V-Band
Turbine - Inlet - T6
Turbine Housing A/R - 1.32
Horsepower Rating - 550-1300

spec wise says it is in between 4708 and the 4718. but i have not fpound a map on the turbos. i have seend the flow map of a HTT and know it is inbetween the 4088/94
i would side on the garret. as per there are 4 options to work with for gthe turbine a/r to fine tune to your liking/application form .96-1.39. vs 2 that i know of with the s480. 1.10 or 1.32 a/r

last time i check the s480 is oil cooled and journal bearing were the GT are water cooled and ball bearing

Is a Htt S300 similiar size to BDs S300? BD is 57mm or 62mm inducer?
I might have my numbers mixed up on that

I agree with the first 2, but getting alittle high on others.

IMO on the setup..

LBZ turbo is roughly a 55-60lbmin charger a
4508 is a 110lbmin charger at max flow. saya 20-80% range you looking ate 25-100lbmin range with high effeciency. ~ 45lbmin and a ~2:1 PR is already taking over the job of the small charger on the exhaust side of the this charger. @ 35lbmin and 1.5-1.75 drive pressure the 4508 is already spinning this is with a 1.01 A/R turbine housing this would be the largest turbo i woudl
run with the LBZ turbo unless i was running N20
