Curious if anyone had any idea what could have been installed here?

There was also a 3/8 or 1/2 (can't remember) plastic elbow on the stock intake tube that was capped off located here on this pic.

Thanks for any help!

HMMM I wonder if this was an attempt to add cooling air to the LLY cooling issue.

Cutting tht upper shroud would do nothing but make it run hotter by letting the air coming through the grill escape before pushing through the stack... IMO

Does it look like anything was ever solid mounted on the core supports? Maybe an aux cooler and that was like a fill hole? Looks to have been cut fairly skillfully

Does the bottom of the hood where that hole is look odd at all?

Hydrogen setup? With the elbow in the intake tube and the odd hole in the core support cover, that's my guess. They were somewhat popular around here for awhile. Depending on the installation, they tend to hack through covers and such to route lines, etc. I've seen similar stuff locally.

I bet that's what it was.

Hood looks fine. Nothing unusual. Something was mounted on the trans cooler support. Can see a hole on each side of the trans support were something was mounted. Thanks for replies.

Hydro improved my mileage by 22 mpg while towing, snake oil? I think not....

Hydrogen seems like another one of those things that the people that have them seem to like them and think they are an improvement. Everyone else who doesn't have it says it's snake oil and don't work. Haven't met anyone yet who had it and didn't believe in it.

I have never heard anything but bad, but then again I have never seen anyone running it, I do know a guy putting a kit on a 6000 series ford tractor for shits and giggles...
