Just got my Tech license finally last weekend and my callsign yesterday. Needed to for years and years seeing as I deal with comms for my job and as a hobby anyway LOL.
Any other HAM radio guys here? Radios at home or in trucks, etc?
No Ham here , but i deal with "Smart Net" / "trunking" Motorola 800mhz radio systems daily for my day job. I got lucky a few years back and got into this comms job for the same company i was a Lead Mechanic for 10 years prior , I am now a "Radio Tech " / Tech Support guy for Unified Police Dept we have , Paging transmitters , 2 full 16 channel 800mhz trunk systems , Microwaves , VHF transmitters , UHF transmitter's , ect . I should take some pics of our mobile Comm truck , it is used as a emergency dispatch center , and also a mobile comm center in case of major disaster ect . $600,000 rig based off of a Ken worth chassis :cool2: Hams are cool but i have never got into it too much.
