Just starting to do a Duramax conversion on my Nissan Patrol, thought i'd join to get some informaion on Duramax conversions.
They are starting to become more popular in Australia.

Cool another one, what are you putting it into a gq or gu and what are you using lbz, lmm etc?

DMAX403 it's going into a GU4, as for the engine trying to work that out now, one of the reasons I joined here.

Cool mines a GU4 too, according to Heath they are the easiest to do cause they have more space under the bonnet. I'd definitely go for the lbz or lmm if i was you that way you get the 6sp gearbox. :thumb:

Just out of curiosity are you doing the conversion yourself or paying someone to do it.

Yeah going either the lbz or lmm with the 6 speed.
Doing most of it myself with the help of some in the know people.

Main thing is to try and find a good motor and get it on its way so I can start in the new year

Engine number location

Do Duramax engines have engine numbers stamped into the block?

I have an LMM and cannot find an engine number at all.
