Hi I'm still trying to decide what pump setup to go with. I don't want a loud can opener that I can hear while the truck is running. I've read about PPE's and ith sounds good and reliable to those who have it. Does it come with everything to hook it up and also survive Ohio winters. I was thinking about TTS and I got denied on that one I'd say. I've also read on the Airdog. Some have given that a bad grade cause missing parts and different mounting bracket. Is the PPE the one I'd like? Having a 2 micron filter like the Cat, Does it restrict any flow? I'm still thinking about doing the secondary filter setup with some kind of pump. Thank's guys, Adam

You'll probably hear all of them when the truck is at idle...Some of us have used a boost activated switch and bypass...This is the way I set mine up with a FASS 150 pump and PermaCool filter...

That's all fancied up Chris. And you say the -AN lines and fittings weren't that much in price. Is it better to go with -AN fittings or just preference with this? How does the boost activated switch hook up? Are the new FASS setups as loud as the old ones? My friends Dodges are loud. I know, I shouldn't be so picky.

You can't hear an Airdog at idle if you have 4" or bigger exhaust, not sure about stock exhaust.

I am running a PPE pump and love it. I am also running a boost activated switch. What I did was get a low pressure oil switch form summit. The switch is set at 7PSI. The I put a T into my hose going to my boost guage. I ran the line to the switch and wired it all up. So when the truck hits 7PSI of boost the pump comes on. Othere that that the pump is off and the truck runes fine. I will get some pics up.

I have mine come on with the ignition its loud but that's how I know its working. some have made the argument that using a boost activated switch could cut the life of the pump with the constant on and off.

I never said they were cheap, just my preference
:D

Same here, except with a 15psi switch

some have made the argument that using a boost activated switch could cut the life of the pump with the constant on and off.

Or that it lasts longer because it's not always on

I am running an Airdog 150 and I'm very happy with it. I can't hear it at
an idle at all. I logged my first pull and held 25k all the way down the track.
They did have problems with fittings missing when they first came out. I believe they have worked out all of the problems. I didn't have any problems with mine and the install was straight forward. Hope this helps.

What noise level would you guys compare the PPE lift pump too. The old style FASS pump? I talked to Chad Hall today and he said he has a FASS pump only and he likes it and it's quiet. I think if someone could tell me how noisy loud the PPE is, I can narrow it down more. Is there any restriction from having the secondary filter setup with a 2 micron filter? How much are -AN lines usually for all that setup. Should I just go with fuel hose or something. Thank's
