my truck is stock, other then the EDGE i put on last week. i put a 4" turbo back exhaust on it today and strait piped the muffler. it seems like it doesnt have all the power it has before, is that normal?

I would test on the dyno. The butt-o-meter is not very reliable, sound makes some people feel like something is faster or slower. The least amount of power I have been able to feel is around 25 and it was not easy to tell a diff. I highly doubt you lost that much. jmo

I might be completely out in left field on this this, but I tend to think the butt-o-meter needs calibrated. I'd think that the turbo drive pressure drop is much more significant than the pressure drop offered by the muffler.

I think the turbo really boogers up any effect scavenging might have on the these engines and the effect off exhaust pulse tuning is pretty minor.

Comments? Pat, Guy, Fingers, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller,........?

I doubt there is any power loss that couldn't be attributed to tuning changes.

Like when you put long tube headers on a car, if you don't retune for them, you'll lose power. But once you tune for them, you gain power.

There is nothing about a turbocharged engine that likes backpressure. The turbine is less efficient with backpressure, and the drive pressure at any given boost level is higher.
