Another bad injector story....Advise please

As somr may know ive been having a clatter under throttle as long as i can remember and 3 BR were out of spec. i had pretty much wrote it off as incorrectly honed tips until today when i noticed the truck hazing. I had two BR that maxed out at +6 and one that was -6. My question is are all three of these bad or are the other two over fueling to compensate for the bad one? The ones that were out of spec were 6, 7, and 8.

damn heap of yours kspent!

injectors try to balance themselves out, and remember that whole mess with efi about which cylinder is which just in case you forgot. dont want you pulling out the wrong ones, but it seems like your truck might be due for injectors.

There's nothing wrong with balance rates. It's the bidi controls that are suspect.

Bi-directional aka DVT. In other words, shutting off an injector.

Theyre a grand total of 14 months old with 25k :mad: im not running a lift pump and i got them from us dieselparts.....i know not one of my better decesions but i wasnt well informed on the injector issues with the lb7 at the time. What puzzles me is it still has plenty of power and has been getting 21mpg with 285/75 r16 terra grapplers. Also am i correct that the general concensus is that once the truck starts hazing the electromagnetic valve in the body has gotten weak or stopped working all together therefore causing the injector to shoot fuel all the time which results in piston failure if i were to continue to drive it?

If the hazing you are talking is white smoke with a strong fuel smell it would be that they are letting fuel into the cylinder when they shouldn't be. Most of the time that's ball seat issue.

Ball seats are eroded from my research. Install a lift pump and run addative on the next set, that's what I do and mine have 50,000 miles on them and only one has a slightly high balance rate.

Not to scare you but when my truck had all the bad injectors it was getting that kind of milage too. Never checked the balance rates on them but since it sounded like an old 12 valve I'd think they were pretty shot :D

damn it kspent!

i knew that heap of yours was sick. i hate reading aboot stupid lb7 injector problems. it churns my stomach!! anyways...... i think your injectors are shot too. its not hard to swap them out so if you do end up replacing them, dont be scurred and do it yourself.

Not to derail this from the op. but when these LB7's have this seat issue. or go out so to say. Can i take mine out and send em to exergy or wherever and have them rebuilt or once they do this they are Junk?
