I checked snopes and they are still investigating it. I did check the states at the link below and some have bills that are in the legislature and/or have passed. They have effective dates in 2009, some in Jan 09. Mississippi killed the bill.
Stay tuned and watch for the bill in your state.

Tom Cobb

"BIG BROTHER" Is alive and well, he knows citizens are armed and peasants are not. I believe this is what it is all about, as this legislation would do nothing to prevent crime.

I've said for a long time that they wouldn't go for your guns, they'd go for your ammo... guns have a Constitutional protection. Ammo does not. A list of states where this legislation is pending is listed below.

Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Let your state Legislatures know that you do not want this bill introduced or passed.
The Ammunition Accountability Act is being introduced across the country. Below is a list of states where legislation has already been introduced:

Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Status of pending bills in these States is at:

http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and the calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including handloaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they don't need to take your gun.

I have 3 rounds of ammo...It's that Lake City stuff.;););)

Good, good;) We are smug with the production #'s of our red turret type friend named LEE ;) now we just need to teach LEE the other calibers on hand! Our .40 cals are with plenty of company! Now we need more company for 7.62x39, .223, 7.62x54R:D

I thought Gov. Ah-nold signed this into law in Cali last year. What's the status out there?

Is this micro-engraving supposed to be done on the shell casing or the projectile?

It is supposed to be engraved on the back of the bullet (projectile).

Talk about an unenforceable law. How will they know if your ammunition is or is not in compliance? Disassemble each piece?

Trustworthy citizens will dispose of the non-compliant ammo. You know how that works. Only criminals will have non-compliant ammo. Right.........

I'm sure the shell will be some how marked, but whos to say you didnt reload the shell with a non engraved bullet?;)

This is BS. What good are guns without ammo. A constitutional right is just that...a right. I think I will start working on making my own guns and ammo manufacturing. The last few boxes of Remington slugs we got only about half of them fired. It was in numerous different guns yet to boot an 870rem???? Anyway all guns in question are going to the local gunsmith and the shells too. Then they are going back to walmart and some are getting sent direct to remington. I guess its not against the law to ship ammo when ammo by defination is sapose to fire. WTF?

I got an email about this a while back and was told it's fake. It wasn't on any of the currently proposed legislation here that we (myself and co-workers) could find. If somoene DOES find out that it's real a legit, please let us know.

In the mean time, I suppose I could/should go ahead and send a letter to the proper elected officials knowing my stance on the subject in case it is being legislated here or may be in the future.

california was suppose to sign this into act 4 yrs ago.. never happened, manufactures said cya we ain't doing it, looks like calif gets no ammo.. you're right though they'll (homo obama) be going for the ammo, each box gets a serial number adn the original bill was to code each casing and projectile with the sn on the box..

any idea what production costs would be.... someone's smoking some serious crack.. (didn't obama smoke crack before but didn't inhale:rofl:)

Thanks! We hadn't found anything but evidently we didn't look in the right places.

I'll forward the word on and try to find out which authority figures I need to express concern to and do some expressing.
