So just got back from the ER.....

In my transmission class at school....working on a Caddy tranny.

FYI internal parts are super sharp.

Basically my hand slipped off the shift linkage as I was pulling it out and rubbed my hand on the casing.

1 interior stitch piecing the vein back together and 4 on top.

Didn't hurt at all, but I bet I lost 1/2 -3/4 pint of blood. Its everywhere, you can kinda see it on my pant leg. It was running down my arm and got all over my steering wheel and my seat, enough that I have blood stains on the back of my pants. Got most of it off the truck, thank god for leather.

doesn't look too bad from the pic, but damn I was gushing.

I should probably wear gloves more. But I try to always wear safety glasses! I've still had to have metal pulled out of my eye once. My dad has to go to the eye doctor every other month to get metal out.

Good protective gear pays for itself faster than you think!

Glad you were OK, it looks pretty nasty.

you would have been in a lot of trouble Henry :thumb:

LOL Nick if you have seen some of the cuts I have had I needed to go to the ER and never went. I always used butterfly bandages and had good luck. I bleed alot already even from a pin hole so it looks like I have been shot. But I hate the ER and avoid it at all cost lol life or death I'm stubborn.

Aw c'mon thats a scratch! :D:D just kidding...at least you didn't slice a tendon or anything. That can be a real bummer. I took a shovel across the fingers once and several of them stopped working due to tendons not being connected anymore.

I work in a machine shop so leaking a little from time to time is part of the job...but I am also extremely stubborn about the ER. Unless I can see inside parts...on the outside, I would rather not go.

In a previous occupation I worked with Dr's daily and I think we give most of them WAY too much credit. There are a lot of really "smart" idiot doctors. Especially at the ER.

Glad your OK. Who cares about a caddy tranny anyway?...:happy2:

The emergency room wasn't too impressed I drove myself to the ER....about a 30 min drive.

I'm just thankful I didn't hit any tendons or nerves.
