Alternator Maybe?

Question...when I first start my truck up the last two mornings the battery light comes on, says battery not charging on the display, and gauge shows it. Sounds like the alternator right? But wait...after I shut it off and restart it a couple times it goes away and starts charging?? Maybe the alternator is on the verge of going? Had it checked at Autozone yesterday and all was good...some help or suggestions please? Thank ya...

Thats what one our Dmax work trucks did when the alt went out. It lasted about a week IIRC.

load test the alternator and see how many amps it putting out. not sure what autozone used or did.

Doesn't look to hard to replace..any special tools or notes?

Think that's what they did...used the handheld tool??
