Allison Tranny Temp

I am new to this forum and new to diesel motors and trannys.
I am trying to ck the transmission fluid hot , the manual says between 160 and 200 degrees. I drove around for half hour and only got up to 149 degrees temp for the tranny. Does it need to be hotter to get a true reading on the dipstick?
It wasn't quite up to hot on the dipstick. My truck is a 2007 silverado duramax
diesel. Thanks in advance for the help.

i think i will be ok once you come back from somewhere. and put it in neutrul when chacking.

The manual says put it in park . Maybe thats the problem

If you drove it that long, that is all the hotter it is going to get (yours anyway)- one thing to remember is don't OVERFILL an alli, they don't like that!!!!

Perfect

Where your level is at now is where it should be for best performance and be happy your temps are where they are at. The factory gage could be off by 10 degrees.
