I haven't looked into the wire harness much. But is there 1 park pin I can just ground to allow startup and then pull every other wire from the connector? I've got park signal grounded on my actual trans harness. But I'd like to get rid of all that extra harness I don't need. For those wondering I'm running a manual so I don't need a tcm. Other than differential operation, and thinking its in park always..

What other stuff runs through the tcm that I will need for engine operation

Sub'd. I've been wondering this myself for when I convert mine to a zf. Would you have to run a zf wiring harness with a clutch switch to just flash a zf operating system into the ecm? Or would it be possible to add the clutch switch and the appropriate pins to the ecm and get rid of the tcm all together after flashing in a zf o.s.?

I've only found a speedometer pin. Nothing else that would make sense. Like I don't see any transfer case functions on the pinout? I thought that ran through the tcm since you couldn't get electric push button 4x4 in a zf truck... Wouldn't make sense that it would be a can signal either for something like that.

Well I'm keeping the tcm cause I have push button 4x4. That runs through the tcm
The push button transfer case has it's own controller mounted behind the dash behind the push button switch. If you switched to a manual, why not also switch to a manual shift transfer case and be done with it all. Not sure if you could flash in a manual trans calibration into your ECM and have it work or not. Not sure if the TCCM would recognize the clutch input over the J1850 or if it must see the nuetral input over it to allow shifting.

No point in going to a manual lever since my push button works just fine. Thanks though i didnt know it had its own controller. Now I'm wondering if I should just leave it as is. Since the speed sensors are on the same harness as the allison.

Not sure if the TCCM would recognize the clutch input over the J1850 or if it must see the nuetral input over it to allow shifting.

From what I have found, unfortunately, it wont.

I did a ZF6 swap on a 2005 LLY, and even with the proper clutch pedal wiring and manual trans OS in the ECM, etc..

The transfer case would not go into 4wd low no matter what I did. The light would just blink and the TCCM would inhibit the shift to 4wd low.

Whether an LBZ is going to be the same, I dunno. Try it? Disconnect the TCM, temporarily splice the output speed sensor directly to the ECM (as in a ZF6 application) so the ECM knows the speed is 0 mph, and wire up the clutch pedal position switch (there are two circuits, one goes to the starter relay, the other to the CPP input on the ECM)...and see if it works?

The only other option I can think of is maybe using a Kodiak TCCM??? IIRC all Kodiaks had an electric-shift transfer case regardless of transmission....

I just looked it up. Kodiak uses the same TCCM, just flashed with a different calibration.

The 4wd switch is wired a little differently, so if you reflashed the TCCM (with a Tech 2) to a kodiak calibration, it wouldnt work "as-is"...you would have to swap to a Kodiak 4wd switch. And the Kodiak TCCM isnt setup to control the engagement/disengagement of the front axle actuator.

But maybe the 4wd Kodiaks couldnt even be ordered with the ZF6. I dont remember, and theres really no way to find out if ZF6 4wd kodiak was a thing unless you search and find one.

From what I remember, Im not 100% sure I tried setting the parking brake (in addition to pressing the clutch pedal) when I tried the 4wd low button on that 2005 LLY swap....it was 4 or 5 years ago at this point so I cant remember.

Owell ill just stick with what I got for another year lol. But fwiw I don't use the front diff actuator. But that's easy to wire in just a switch for that its just a 12v signal

From what Ive found, the Kodiaks never came with ZF6/4wd...all ZF6 Kodiaks were 2wd only. So scratch that idea.
