Hello. I have a 2001 8.1 with the Allison. Cold at idle there is a random tap with no rhythm. Sounds like it is in the bell housing. Pressed on all the shield's with no luck. Anyone had this?
Ok I found the problem. Pulled the starter to check converter bolts and the starter sounded like it had marbels in it. Changed starter and all is good.
