Allison spin on filter holes...

Which way does fluid flow through the allison filter holes?


Thought I was doing the right thing by going to the Allison dealer to get what ( I thought was) a $7 filter like they had said when I called a while back.

Get there, they have no idea what it is and finally come back with a Fleetguard HF35296... $18.50.

Holes are inboard and pretty much covered by the magnet. Due to the crown on the top of the filter if fluid is coming out from the filter and up into the trans (which I think it does) it should be fine, but if fluid is flowing down from tranny into the small holes there may be some blockage issues.

Whats the scoop here?

Thats what I said. I went in and said Hi I need a spin on for my Allison LCT1000 and I got a Look.

"Whats that man? I need a part number. I have no way to look up parts just part numbers"

Piece of sh*t... had to sit there on my iPhone for 5 minutes searching the web for a part number, then he gives me a Fleetgaurd filter and not a Allison OEM.

Think Im going to write to corporate and relay my story, was a bunch of crap. They should be pulled from the website.

I first asked if they sold Allison parts and got kind of a dumb look and they said "ummmm some, we sell some little filters and crap".

I think most filters flow from outside to inside, but I'm not 100% sure on the Allison spin on.

tell them you need that red little spin on filter that pretty much every allison uses. THe guy is an idiot if he doesnt know what you are talking about...
