Friend of mine has an 06 that the converter was acting up and had a small front seal leak. We pulled it and put a gmax with precision converter in it. When I put it back together we put a dab of silicone under all the bolts and new orings. The front seal did not go in to good and it had a leak so we pulled it again checked all the bolts for tightness and put another seal in it. It still leaks out the front:mad: It seems that the front pump housing is slightly out of round. Is that possible or where else could it be leaking? We had to bevel the edge of the front pump and the new seal slightly so we could get it in there. Any ideas? I'm at a loss what to do next.

Also it had the 2 copper washers under the bottom bolts and we put them back in. Should we get new coppers?

Was it leaking before you tore it down? Pumps and housings don't get out of round. What do you mean when you say the seal gave you trouble? What did you have to bevel? All this sounds all wrong. Have you done this before?

It had a slight leak before we tore it down. I assumed it was the front seal. When I went to install the front seal the first time it would not start in the pump housing correctly. I finally got it in but had to get pretty hard on it. So the second time I took and just ever so slightly took the edge off the outside of the pump housing so the seal would start. It went in better then and I feel good about the seal. It still leaks somewhere out of the front housing. Yes I have done it before but, never had this problem. It runs and shifts great. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you added Dye to the system and tried to pinpoint its exact leak location with a black light? I know its kind of a bitch removing and replacing allisons but it would help you narrow down the reason as to what is actually leaking. Probably need a new pump if there is damage done to inlet.

There was no visible damage to the pump but, I have never had a seal go in so hard.

Forgot to update this. Turned out to be a leaking precision converter. They sent another one and no more leak:thumb:
