i just got an 2003 gmc with a 6.6 allison.how much power can i add without upgrading tranny?can some help with what i should upgrade and how much i can without blowwing tranny?predator diablo?

stock 2003 6.6/allison help!!!

i'm wondering how much hp i can add without tranny problems.can i use a box programmer like predator diablo?i'm a diesel virgin and want a little more balls without buying a tranny

You can't merge them... One of us Admins or Mod's would have to.

I believe the LB7 can hold approx. 90 more HP before you have to worry about the transmission.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

oh boy. :toilet_claw: Welcome to the best diesel spot one earth! I'm told that a stock tranny will only support about 90 extra hp safely. Some will take a little more but 90 seems to be the magic "safe" number.

Kat is correct... some transmissions however are already weak from abuse even with stock power... usually the 4-5 shift is where most limps happen good luck

The general consensus is between 60-80hp over stock. It seems to vary from truck to truck.

PPE standard would be my choice for a canned tuner if you don't want a trans build in the future.
