Certain vehicles built from
November 16, 2007 through

Issue
On the affected trucks, Allison Transmission Corporation has determined that a very
small number of transmissions may have been produced with a non-conforming park
pawl actuator assembly. The non-conforming assembly may cause higher effort in
moving the shift selector out of park.
Action
1. Allison Transmission Corporation warrants the transmission park pawl actuator
assembly and is conducting a Product Satisfaction Field Action to inspect and, if
necessary, repair the park pawl actuator assembly in the affected trucks.
2. Allison Transmission Corporation has contacted all Allison distributors and
authorized service centers (including authorized Ford dealers). Allison is
providing these facilities with parts, technical instructions, and claiming
instructions for the inspection and repair of the park pawl actuator assembly.
3. This notification is for your information only. Allison Transmission Corporation is
conducting the Product Satisfaction Field Action and Ford Motor Company has no
administrative responsibilities for this action.
4. DO NOT SUBMIT WARRANTY CLAIMS TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
5. Allison Transmission Corporation has also sent all affected owners a letter asking
them to have the transmission parking pawl actuator assembly inspected and if
necessary, repaired at an authorized service center.
