allison fluid leak

So one of my allison trannys is leaking from the shifter linkage. what is the process for fixing this? and how involved is it? or would stop leak prolong the issue.

It's not bad to do. Remove the nsbu switch (also pull the front driveshaft ) then drill maybe a 1/8" hole or smaller into the seal. Then take a 90 degree pick and "dig it out". After that use a socket that fits nicely to tap the new seal in.

KD has a tool for this and it is much safer than drilling and prying. Seal is the same as a turbo 350, 400, 700, 4L60E, and 4L80E.

and that is what i love most about GM, just about everything is interchangeable.

cant tell you how many small blocks iv'e put together not even knowing what CID the parts came out of.
