Will a 2008 Allison work in a 2006 truck, and what are the internal, external differences, TCM differences etc?

I would PM Mike L. about the differences but from my experience they're different and won't directly swap over.
Going to need to swap bell housings as the LBZ requires an extra speed sensor to monitor input shaft speed.
Almost correct. The input speed sensor is the rpm sensor and monitors converter dimples.
