Not sure where to buy this.

Anyone know how you'd buy AlBeMet 162?

It's an Aluminum Beryllium powdered-metal alloy.

Warning: Do not machine any of the powdered-metal beryllium alloys unless you know what you are doing. Highly toxic. No cure. You need to run it with a vacuum system, and HEPA filtration. I machined it for years.

You will probably have to go to the source. Materion Brush

The stuff has fallen out of favor because of it's toxic nature.

Lighter than aluminum, stronger than steel, not as brittle as billet beryllium. Easy to machine supposedly. Billet Be is no fun to machine.

It's only the dust that can hurt you, and only if you breathe it.

And this is why they made six axis CNC machines. ;)
