About to put a Airdog fp150 or the Airdog 2 165 in my truck.
I have a stock tank in it. Is the AirDog going to get what it needs from the stock system in the tank or would installing a sump kit be a good compliment for it? Anything else i should know before going ahead with it.
ideas, comments ?? Thanks all.:thumb:

Back when I was looking at the two, The Airdog 2 came with a much better install kit. Basically plug and play. The Airdog 1 might have the same kit now, though.

In the long run, it is probably worth springing for the Airdog 2 for a little more flow. Never know what the future holds.

And finally, a sump isn't really necessary until you are drawing a TON of fuel. I was at ~600HP with the stock fuel pickup and an Airdog2. With the new build, I'm curious if I'll finally max out the stock fuel pickup. I was always worried about hitting the sump offroad and ripping it off, which is why I've stayed away so far.

I am currently running a small little AD100 from stock pickup and no sump. Running low 11s and soon ill crack 10s I believe. Not until I went to to a 2800us tune on 60 overs did I lose rail pressure by 2k or so. I do have 2Cp3s.

If it is your desire and goal to make big power, a sump and bigger lift pump are a good part of that plan.

I'd just run the stock pick up, I drilled my basket out for more flow as per the instructions. I ran it that way for a while. I am now running dual sumps and dual air dog 200's way over kill and not needed. A 150 or 165 will get you what your looking for.

use to be people said you couldnt go over 600hp without a modded pickup tube. that since been WAY proven wrong lol.

i vote the AD2. way easier to install and will support alot of HP.
