When you change your filter, do you loose a gallon of diesel?

I'm changing mine for the first time since I put it on, and I'm afraid to unscrew the filter all the way thinking I'll loose my full tank of fuel. As I turn, it doesn't let up any...

I put a ball valve infront of my PPE so I wouldn't loose fuel. I would think that the Airdog doesnt allow fuel to pass when changing filters?

Well, this is Bull****..

Man I can't stand this diesel pouring in my face to do this, much less if I can't get the new one lined up fast enough. Then I'll have 20+ gals of fuel on the ground.

I'm disappointed that AirDog didn't put some kind of stop or turn off value. Seems fuel is flowing directly from the tank.

I use straight-jaw vise grips. They don't hurt the lines. Just throw one on each line and very little will be lost. If you have a couple of cheap quik-grips clamps, they work in a pinch, but make sure you get them on well.

I'm going to get up earlier before I have to go in so I can try this. Irritating.

Nothing like going in smellin' like diesel!

After the first time or two of dealing with the same situation, I waited until I was below 1/8th of a tank to change the AirDog fuel filters. Now all I lose is just a dribble. Low fuel level = low head pressure = no mess. Try it.
